The WAFL has finalised their AFL player allocation in preparation for the upcoming 2010 season.

In all 7 news players have been given new WAFL homes by the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Dockers in a process coordinated through the WA Football League.

The Peel Thunder and Claremont Football Clubs have each added two AFL interstate recruits while East Fremantle, Perth and East Perth also received one player to complete the allocation.

The recruits are allocated in a reverse-draft order by the five lowest finishing teams in the WAFL competition in 2009 to help them in their endeavours to climb the premiership ladder in 2010.

WAFL Operations Manager Clint Roberts said the allocation of these players into the WAFL system has benefited both the WAFL clubs and these aspiring AFL players.

“The WAFL clubs provide a terrific service for these young players and play a big part in their football development. It is a very important part of our football system that these AFL listed players play in a strong football competition where they can grow.’ Roberts said.

“It is not easy coming to a new State, training with an AFL club and playing in the WAFL competition but these players in the past have enjoyed the experience and many have been outstanding in their contribution to the WAFL competition and their adopted WAFL clubs.’

The 2010 player allocation:
Peel Thunder Football Club: Michael Barlow and Jesse Crichton (FFC)
Claremont Football Club: Alex Silvagni and Adam McPhee (FFC)
East Fremantle Football Club: Koby Stevens (WCE)
Perth Football Club: Justin Bollenhagen (FFC)
East Perth Football Club: Dylan Roberton (FFC)
